King AbdulAziz Center for National Dialogue has received a delegation from the Council of Foreign Relations in New York City on Wednesday January 27, 2010. To receive the delegation was H.E Mr. Faisal Bin Muammar, the Secretary General, and Dr. Fahad Al-Sultan the Vice-Secretary General. The Council of Foreign Relations delegation were lead by Ms. Isobel Coleman, Senior Fellow for U.S. Foreign Policy at the Council, and Mr. Steven Cook, Senior Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council. At the beginning of the meeting the Secretary General H.E. Mr. Faisal Bin Muammar welcomed the delegation to the Center, then a short documentary about the Center was presented. After that, there was an open dialogue about the National Meetings for intellectual dialogue and women participation in them. The topics discussed were the Center's programs and projects, its memorandums of understanding with different institutes, and the training programs the Center implements through which it aims at reaching the largest numbers of people, whether in schools, families, or mosques. The delegation expressed a special interest in the Saudi educational system and the mechanism the Center follows in spreading the culture of dialogue there. A special attention was given to "Classroom Dialogue", a training package the Center launched recently. At the end of the meeting, the delegation expressed their delight of Center's role and pioneering experience in spreading dialogue and coexistence. From his side, H.E. Mr. Faisal Bin Muammar thanked the delegation for their visit and interest.
